About Us
We are a collaborative led, multi-disciplinary theatre company, founded in 2022 and born out of a group of actors who met at drama school. Leaving our training and stepping into the industry, we wanted to feel empowered to create our own work; the kind of work that we wanted to give a voice to and get our hands on.
Our company is full of ever-growing diverse talent that we believe should be seen for all they have to offer. Troupe 22 is unfunded and a non-profit company; driven by artistic passion and a desire to produce and champion a creative, collaborative, and inclusive space in which we can all dare, grow, and strive for excellence in the work we create and the stories we share.
News
We’re excited to unveil that our artistic directors play, ‘Alone, Together’ has just been recognised as an OffWestEnd Assessors’ Choice!
What we do
We are first and foremost a theatre company and community, a kind of harbour that allows actors and writers the chance to anchor. We feel that with what can be quite an isolating industry, full of sometimes extreme highs and lows in facing the ever-changing uncertainty of theatre work, it’s important to have others around you going through that unique experience too, so we allow time to just hang out together as well creating new work and building community of artists. This is why we are not only here for producing work, but also here for the people.
Our Mission
We have an annual Festival of New Writing, showcasing up-and-coming writers and supporting them to have the opportunity to get their work produced, fully cast and on stage - because sometimes you just don’t know if you can or what's in you until you try.
Host a monthly in person ‘PLAY CLUB’ - reading new plays together just for the fun of it. This is a chance to just hang out and expand our play knowledge. It’s a good way for us to meet new actors interested in future Troupe 22 productions & build our community. We might even test out some new material from the writers in the Troupe.
We support Troupers to put on their own work, under our umbrella of support. Facilitating the opportunity for anyone to take on a idea and run with it.
Fundraise for our future projects by putting on small scale shows that make the use of our diverse talents in the Troupe. For example our Musical Theatre Valentines Cabaret which took to the stage in February 2024.
“This talented company of emerging actors dazzle with innovative new writing, powerful storytelling and a beautiful emotional depth that deserves a bigger theatre and audience for their next masterpiece.”
